Grafton – The #3 seed Marlborough Panthers defeated the #2 seed Grafton Indians by a score of 20-13 in a MIAA Football Central Division 4 semi-final playoff game on Friday evening, November 3. This game had a bit of historical significance, as it was the first time these two area football teams have faced each other, despite both schools having football programs that date back to the 1890’s.
Marlborough scored first on a touchdown run by Kevin Short. Devin Raun scored two touchdowns early in the second half to put the Panthers up 20-0 before Grafton got their first score. Grafton did rally back with two touchdowns late in the game, but they were unable to overcome the early lead the Panthers had built.
Marlborough moves on to face Nashoba Regional next week in the Central Division 4 finals.
