Constance L. McDonoughMarlborough – Constance L. (Polini) McDonough, 81, of Marlborough, died Aug. 17, 2018.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (McSheehy) Polini and the wife of the late Robert McDonough.

Mrs. McDonough received a bachelor’s degree in education from Worcester State College and put it to good use as a wonderful mom to her four children.

She enjoyed painting, sewing, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was a wise woman who was well-versed in a variety of subjects, along with the accomplishment of launching a food brokerage business with her husband in the 1980s.

She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Joan Peters, and survived by her son, Bill McDonough of Shrewsbury, and her daughters, Megan McDonough and her husband Joe of Hardwick and Lisa Veith and her husband Charles of Rutland. She leaves her son-in-law, Michael Peters of Franklin, and her nine grandchildren, Timothy and Kelly McDonough, Sean and Ryan Peters, Jonathan and Emily Raskett, and William, Alex, and Sarah Veith. She was the sister of Joan Bright and Gail Bertel.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. There will be no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors without Borders.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
