Shrewsbury – Rita E. (Fortier) Guertin, 89, passed away Oct. 6, 2018. Her husband of 61 years, Henry L. Guertin, passed away in 2009.
Rita is survived by her sons, Dennis Guertin and his wife Susan and Kenneth Guertin and his wife Leslie; her grandchildren, Craig Guertin and his wife Alysha, Lauren Guertin and Jessica Guertin; and several nephews. Her brother, Raymond Fortier, predeceased him.
Rita was born May 29, 1929 in Worcester, daughter of the late Eva B. (Rainville) and Alphonse Fortier.
She worked at CVS in Shrewsbury for more than 30 years.
Rita found joy in life with her family at her center, cherishing time with her sons and spending several years caring for her grandchildren. She also treasured trips to points across the globe with her husband Henry.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Shrewsbury Crossing for their exceptional and compassionate care of Rita.

All are welcome to gather with Rita’s family Friday, Oct. 12, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by the celebration of her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. She will then be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
