Jennifer Hawes MichelsHudson – On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Jennifer Hawes Michels, loving wife and mother of one child, peacefully passed away surrounded by family at the age of 61.

Jennifer grew up in Sudbury, where she met the love of her life, Stephen Michels. She graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1977 and later attended Boston University to pursue a nursing degree. Together, they raised one son, Brad Michels. Jennifer had an uphill battle where she conquered many ailments and amazed all that knew her with her perseverance, humor and strength.

Jenny always felt strongly about keeping up with her family including nieces, nephews, all the way down to their children. Anybody who knew Jenny, knew that if she had her way, she would have a house full of puppies. Her dogs were by her side through every twist and turn her life took. Cross-stitching and knitting with The Girls was something she looked forward to on a weekly basis. A love she passed down to her son and daughter in-law was her love of birds. The three of them would sit for hours talking, bird watching and enjoying each other’s company.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Hawes, and her father, Richard Hawes. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Michels; her son, Brad Michels; her daughter in-law, Laura Fleming; her parent in-laws, Karl and Gigi Michels; her sisters, Deb Hawes Davin, Marcia Swenson, Betsy Hawes; and her brother, Richard Hawes.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, March 30, from 4-7 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
