Hudson – The Hudson High School Hawks softball team hosted the Marlborough High School Panthers for their traditional Memorial Day meet up May 27 in Hudson.
The game featured each team's standout pitcher; Molly McGuire pitched for the visiting Panthers while Jurnee Ware was on the mound for the Hawks. ?After a scoreless two innings, the Hawks put one on the board after Kara Knights drove in Kristen Lally to make it 1-0 Hawks after three.
The pitching duel continued until the bottom of the sixth inning when Kara Knights added an insurance run on a double by Sammi Waldsmith. ?The Panthers were unable to score in the seventh and the game ended with the Hawks winning 2-0.
Hudson goes to 10-0 league (19-1 overall) while Marlborough drops to 8-2 league (14-6 overall).
