Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School Colonials hosted the Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks for a girls’ lacrosse game May 3.
Shrewsbury had lost nine games in a row to Algonquin, including last year's Central Massachusetts final. In this game, the Colonials came out roaring and scored three quick goals (Caroline Trabucco and Lauren Ineson, 2) while the Tomahawks’ Amanda Murphy scored first for her team.
Shrewsbury maintained a 10-9 lead at the half and the two swapped goals in the second half with Trabucco scoring the game winner with less than a minute left as Shrewsbury won 18-17.
