Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Marlborough – Anthony G. “Tony” Farreh, 67, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jeanette (Spury) Farreh, to whom he was married for 42 years.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Nabie and Mary (Evanko) Farreh, and moved to Marlborough in 1972.

Mr. Farreh was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of Specialist Class 5. After leaving the Army, he went to work for Atlas Metals in Hudson, becoming shop foreman and working there for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 2010.

Mr. Farreh was a longtime member of the former St. Ann’s church in Marlborough, the Marlborough Knights of Columbus Council #81, and the Edward F. McSweeney Council of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He was an active member of his sons’ Cub Scouts packs when they were growing up.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jason Farreh and his wife Jaime of Georgia, Brad Farreh of North Carolina, and David Farreh of Marlborough; a sister, Janice Dorsam and her husband William of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette’s Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. Visiting hours at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com) will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 5-8 p.m.
