Grafton – Golfers of all skill-levels are invited to play in the Fourth Annual KMS Golf “Tourna-Mint,” to be held at the Highfields Golf & Country Club, Saturday, Aug. 1.
The event will be a four person Florida-style scramble with prizes for first, second, and last places, closest to the pin, longest drive, a putting contest and more.
According to the organizers, the tournament is “simply a fun way to honor the memory of longtime Grafton resident and Highfields’ employee, Krista Schonberg, by playing the game she loved.”
Team sign-up is $500 ($125 per player) and includes golf with a cart, the putting contest, lunch, and dinner. The event begins with registration at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The application deadline to participate is Monday, June 29.
Last year’s event sold out, drawing participation from 200 golfers and their dinner guests from in and around the Grafton community. Organizers are also seeking sponsors for the tournament, as well as donations for the benefit dinner. Hole sponsorships begin at $100 and include signage at the event and promotion throughout the tournament materials.
Tickets are also available on a limited basis to non-golfers for the benefit dinner, which will feature a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds from the event will go to the Grafton Police Alliance fundraiser to benefit Sgt. Mike Mazzola, a twenty-year veteran of the Grafton Police Department who is battling cancer.
