Westborough – At 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, Julio’s Liquors will open its doors to allow the first 500 visitors (21 years or older) a chance to purchase the rarest of the rare whiskies. The event will work as a lottery system. Each of the first 500 visitors at Julio’s will receive a special one day only “Unicorn Card” which they can then fill out and place in a bucket of the whisk(e)y they want to purchase. At 1 p.m, the winners will be drawn, and allowed to purchase the bottle of their interest. Participants must be present to win and buy the bottle.
For years, Julio’s Liquors has been trying to get rare whiskies into the hands of their customers with their fair and honest “Hold Card System”. But even this system has its flaws in that you must establish yourself as a regular customer to earn the coveted “Hold Card”. That’s about to change! For one “dramtastic” day, the Unicorns (aka rare and valuable whiskies) will be plentiful and everyone will have a chance to purchase those mythical liquid beasts.
If you are already a fantastic Julio’s customer and have Hold Cards, don’t worry, Julio’s didn’t forget about you. You may use your Hold Cards on any of the whiskies offered for the Unicorn Shoot. However, because of the nature of this event you will NOT be given back any of the Hold Cards that do not win. This event is a true lottery for purchase.
Additionally, the first 500 customers that show the Julio’s Liquors VIP App installed on their phone will also get a Unicorn Card. This means that customers have the chance to get two free Unicorn Cards just for being one of the first 500 customers through the doors. There will also be specials available that will allow visitors another Unicorn Card, and other whiskies that will get you a regular Hold Card (for use anytime). See a Spirit Guide or displays on Sunday for offerings and details.
