Capital requests from the School Department, Recreation, Police and Fire were among those passed by Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, March 23.

The Select Board declined to move forward on a developer’s proposal for the White Cliffs mansion property. 

The Lake Quinsigamond Commission created a new subcommittee on Aug. 30 to combat the continued dangerous and obnoxious behavior on the lake. 

An anonymous complaint led to a $1,000 fine and a three-day license suspension for the Vape City Smoke Shop at 135 Turnpike Road.

During the Select Board meeting on April 11, Town Manager Kristi Williams introduced the new quarterly newsletter.

As the town continues to search out savings in the fiscal 2025 budget, there was some good news coming from the town manager.

Now that funding to cover the design costs has been approved, the Westborough Public Library is getting ready for the next phase.

The Massachusetts Legislature passed a bill to rename the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen to the Shrewsbury Select Board on Sept. 15. 

Westborough voters will head to the polls for the town election on March 12. There are two contested races on the ballot.

Todd Minardi is officially the interim Westborough police chief. On June 27, the Select Board approved his employment agreement.

Shrewsbury voters went to the polls on May 7 for the town’s annual election and re-elected all of the incumbents.

Shrewsbury unveiled plans during an April 5 meeting to expand the cemetery across the street into areas of Prospect Park.  

The Northborough Board of Selectmen have officially changed its name to the Select Board. Town Meeting approved the name change on April 24. 

“Starting April 1, the parking lot of the Congregational Church of Westborough will no longer be available to patrons of the Westborough Public Library."

Question 4 asks whether voters approve of a law allowing residents who can't provide proof of lawful presence to obtain a license or permit.

Civico/Greenly Development presented the board with proposed modifications to their plans for Beal Commons at on Thursday night.

Northborough voters rejected an article to amend language in the zoning bylaw governing off-street parking and loading.

The building will be part of expansion plans for All Phase Glass, currently doing business on Collette Street.

A sign and façade program may be on the horizon in Northborough. It was recently discussed during the Planning Board’s Aug. 1 meeting.

A less-than-anticipated increase in state aid could factor in an increase to the town’s average single-family property tax bill past $1,000.
