Wayside presents awards on Senior Health and Fitness Day
Marlborough – In observance of National Senior Health and Fitness Day, a luncheon was served May 28 at Wayside Racquet and Swim Club with awards presented to deserving guests. The highlight was the announcement of the 18th annual George Fortin Fit for Life Award and the second annual Effie Ann Thompkins Community Service Award. Each of the award's namesake was in attendance.
As is the custom, that morning began with the Al Kursonis Memorial Tennis Tournament. This year, three winners were recognized by Darren McLaughlin, general manager of Wayside.

Leaves and Yard Waste Disposal in Marlborough
Marlborough - During October and November, Marlborough residents who have vehicles with sideboards will be allowed to dispose of leaves and yard waste at the Resident Drop-off Facility, 856 Boston Post Road East. Marlborough Senior Tax Work-off Program approved by council
Marlborough - The City Council unanimously approved the establishment of a Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-off Program at its July 23 meeting. The program, proposed by Mayor Arthur Vigeant, allows the city to provide local property owners over the age of 60 a reduction of up to $1,000 on the amount paid on their property tax in exchange for volunteer services to the city of Marlborough.

Marlborough city council approves funding for economic development
Marlborough - The City Council approved a transfer of $200,000 from the city's Economic Development account to the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) at the council's May 21 meeting.
MEDC is the state-chartered economic development corporation for the city of Marlborough, that according to its mission statement, works to foster economic development, job growth and community revitalization and development in the city.
