Shrewsbury – Keiko Moriwaki used to squish her way through mobs of people to climb aboard crowded trains that would take her anywhere she needed to go. The native of Osaka, Japan, had much to adapt to when her husband took a job in the U.S. two and a half years ago and she found herself living in Shrewsbury.

Westborough High alumna advocates for heart disease awareness

Westborough - Chrissy Gaffney, currently of Worcester, was happy to attend her 30-year reunion of the Westborough High School class of 1984, held Oct. 11 at the Hampton Inn in Natick. She shared with some classmates that it was only three months after her third heart surgery. “I’m very proud to say that I’m a heart disease survivor,” said Gaffney, a 2014 spokesperson for the Go Red for Women campaign of the American Heart Association. “When you open up that conversation about heart disease, so many people are immediately receptive and want to share their stories, whether it be their own personal experience or they lost a close relative to heart disease.”

Hudson - Dana Lorway, proprietor of the "Good Good Sheep" in Hudson, has been knitting since she was in college. A former learning disabilities specialist and school psychologist in the Worcester School System, Lorway left her career behind to follow her passion - knitting. She opened the Good Good Sheep, located at 26 Main St., which sells locally produced wools, yarn, roving (a long and narrow bundle of fiber used to spin yarn), and products made by local artisans.
