Parents of Pete Frates accept donation in Northborough for ALS foundation

Northborough – By now, the story of former Boston College baseball captain Pete Frates is widely known not only in New England but around the country and beyond. Pete was a 2007 graduate of BC and a star on the Eagles baseball team. He was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in 2011 and has become an international spokesman for the disease. He was the inspiration for the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” which has raised more than $220 million for ALS research, making it the most successful social media fundraising effort in history.

Grafton Indians boys’ lacrosse defeats Shrewsbury Colonials

Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury High School Colonials hosted the Grafton High School Indians on April 19. Grafton's Cole Fontana scored the first goal quickly at the 11:12 mark while Shewsbury's first goal wasn't scored until the second quarter by Alec Buduo. The Indians lead 8-2 at the end of the first half and came out firing in the third quarter, going on to defeat the Colonials 14-4.

‘Historic’ gathering in Hudson brings together communities to fight the opioid epidemic

Hudson/Marlborough – More than 600 residents, community leaders, state officials and family members of those who have died from drug overdoses gathered at Grace Baptist Church in Hudson April 6 to address the opioid epidemic.
