Northborough dad, daughter share passion for hoops

Northborough - For Kevin Merchant, the passion for basketball began at an early age. Living across the street from Proctor School in a neighborhood flooded with children, Kevin spent countless hours on the school courts honing his skills. As a teenager in the late "70s, Kevin played guard at Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS). In 2001, his accomplishments on the court were applauded and he was elected to the ARHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

‘Trucking along’ in Hudson

Hudson – Antique trucks of all kinds were on display Sunday at the Antique Truck Show sponsored by the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge 959. The show drew in hundreds of truck aficionados all eager to see the vehicles up close and personal at the Lodge's 99 Park St. location. Vehicles ranged from classic Fords and Chevys, fire trucks, utility trucks, busses, and military jeeps.

Northborough - The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks played host to the Shrewsbury High School Colonials on Sept. 12 in a lightning-shortened game. The Colonials scored first and made the two-point conversion and then scored two more times in the first half (missing the conversion on the second touchdown and making a point-after kick on the third touchdown). After a weather delay due to lightning, the game resumed but only briefly before more severe lightning and rain suspended the game just after the start of the second half with the score 21-0 ahead of the Tomahawks.
