Letter to the editor: History of Harry’s Restaurant property

To the editor:

Re: the article “Harry’s Restaurant” in the Feb. 22 issue of the Community Advocate

In 1946 the property “Harry’s sits on was part of a hayfield. In November 1949 it was sold to Esso Standard Oil Company by my parents, Rudy and Ann Carlson. Between then and November 1968 it was procured by Walter and Virginia Katunas, owners and operators of the Fox Lounge on Route 9 East. They in turn sold the property to Harry Cohen in November 1968.

Hence Harry’s Restaurant has been a part of Westborough for 45 years, not 67 years. Hopefully they will be here in 2018 so they can celebrate their 50th anniversary.
