Grafton — Jessica Anne Cosman, 22, of Grafton, MA. passed away due to injuries sustained in an accident on Jan. 7, 2017.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of Cheryl (Rochefort) and Paul Cosman.

She leaves behind her loving parents, her brother Joshua Cosman, his wife Magen Cosman and her two nephews Cameron and Jackson of Shrewsbury; her maternal grandmother Madeleine Rochefort of Yarmouthport; her boyfriend Alex Iocolano of Boston, many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends.

Jessica attended Grafton High School and graduated in 2012. She majored in biochemistry and molecular biology at Boston University and graduated magna cum laude in 2016. Anyone who knew Jessica knew that from childhood she was exceptionally brilliant. Her achievements in academics and career far surpasses what would be expected of anyone her age. She worked as a biophysicist at Relay Therapeutics. She loved science and doing research. She aspired to be a leader in her field of biochemistry and was set to achieve it. She was proud to have achieved so much at her age. Jessica loved spending her summers on the Cape Cod beaches or lying by the pool.  She loved the finer things in life, whether it be a beautiful dress or a well-made cocktail. She enjoyed shopping with her mother and spending time with her friends and family and laughing when people took life too seriously. Her loved ones will miss her quick wit, passion for science, and deep unconditional love for the people close to her.

All are welcome to attend calling hours on Saturday, Jan. 14, from 2-6 p.m. at Roney’s Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., Grafton. Services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Jess’ family asks that you make donations to the Jessica Cosman Memorial Scholarship Fund, ℅ Central One Federal Credit Union, 40 South St.,  Westborough, Mass. 01581 rather than sending flowers, to help students in their efforts to further their education in science.
