Region – The Sunshine Club has announced some upcoming trips for this spring, including a Thursday, March 30 bus trip to the Newport Playhouse in Newport, R.I. The show is called “the foursome” and as you can imagine, is about some golfers.
After eating from the bountiful all you can eat buffet, you go into the theater to watch the show. After the show, you return to the restaurant for dessert and coffee with a wonderful cabaret. There is also a driving tour of Newport included. The price is $76 per person.
A trip to Pickity Place in Mason, N.H. will be held Wednesday, April 12. The menu for that day is lasagne bolognese or broccoli and smoked gouda arancini. Included in the meal is rosemary focaccia bread with a sun dried tomato and basil dip, vegetable pistou soup, citrus slaw and cress salad, fresh vegetables, and Heath Bar crunch whoopie pie for dessert.
Enjoy Pickity Place’s setting of the antique cottage that was the inspiration for the “Little Red Riding Hood” books. You can even see “grandma” in the bed! They have a one-room museum about the book and also two gift shops, as well as beautiful gardens to roam around. There will also be stops at the Johnny Appleseed Center and Smith’s Cheese. The cost is $62.
