Region – Now that the busy spring season, with its elections and annual town meetings, is over, officials in many communities will be cutting back their hours a bit. As is tradition, most local government boards will meet on a reduced schedule over the summer months. But with many municipalities still facing a host of significant problems such as rising costs of health insurance, infrastructure repairs and an increasing number of federal (EPA) and state mandates, officials will certainly be needing that extra R&R as they prepare for what will undoubtedly be an active fall.
