Carol A. HenryShrewsbury – Carol A. (Reed) Henry passed away Wednesday July 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by the love of her life and best friend, Ernest W. Henry; her three children, Michael (Elaine) Henry, Eleanor (Stephan) Norling and Robert (Kim) Henry; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles; and extended family members and several cousins, including Marcella Dumas, who was like a sister to her.

Born in Worcester in 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Julia (Walinsky) Reed. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1955 and later moved to Shrewsbury. She worked for and retired from Stop & Shop, after 28 years.

Mrs. Henry loved bowling, the Red Sox, the Green Bay Packers, watching senior softball and spending time with her “Chandler” friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and especially to Ann, Emily and Colleen, her hospice coordinators, for being so attentive and assuring Mrs. Henry's final days were filled with peace and comfort. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the Henry family Friday July 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. (Route 122A), Holden. A funeral service will follow and burial will take place at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
