Helen B. Nartowt, 90Shrewsbury – Helen B. (Bradley) Nartowt, 90, of the Southgate community in Shrewsbury, formerly of Holden, died unexpectedly Saturday July 16, 2011, at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester. Her husband and best friend of 68 years, Walter J. Nartowt, died in 2010.

Born and raised in Cambridge, the daughter of Cornelius J. and Margaret (Toomey) Bradley, she had lived 34 years in Holden and 19 years in Palm City, Fla. before moving to Shrewsbury last year.

She leaves her daughter, Joan M. Nartowt of Palm City, Fla.; two sons, Richard J. Nartowt Sr. of Jefferson and William J. Nartowt of Sutton; five grandchildren, Richard J. Nartowt Jr. of Grafton, Tracy L. Nartowt of Holden, Bradley J. Nartowt of Gainsville, Fla., Bryan Nartowt of Webster, and Brianna N. Nartowt of Sutton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Nartowt enjoyed playing golf with her friends and was a former member of Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton and Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club in Palm City. She was known for her gentle and kind nature and will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She cherished the times spent with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday July 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be private at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. At Mrs. Nartowt's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Rural School, 15929 SW St., Indiantown, FL 34956, or Safe Space, Administrative Office, 632 SE Monterey, Stuart, FL 34994.
