Shrewsbury – Wendell H. Cheney, 87, died Monday Aug. 22, 2011 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth B. (Teasdale) Cheney; three sons, Bradford T. and his wife Tricia Cheney of Irving, Tx., Christopher N. and his wife Linda A. Cheney of Wheaton, Il., and William B. and his wife Tracy Cheney of 
Manville, R.I.; a sister, Lucille Sherman of Windsor Locks, Conn.; seven grandchildren: Katherine and Caroline Cheney, Heather, Sarah, Lauren and Brandon Cheney, and Katie Fontaine.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in 10th Mountain Division F86. He was a Bronze Star recipient and editor of The Blizzard (10th Mountain Division newspaper).
Mr. Cheney, a graduate of Bryant College, was Director of Public Relations for Norton Co., Worcester. He enjoyed wood carving.
