Nov. 5 yard sale to benefit Westborough Girl Scouts spring tripWestborough – Girl Scouts are celebrating their 100th anniversary in March 2012, and 20 Girl Scouts from central and western Massachusetts are recognizing this special occasion by traveling to the Savannah birthplace of the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low.

To help finance the trip for the girls, a yard sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (no early birds, please). Gently used house wares, books 5 years old or less, and toys will be accepted as donations from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. that day. Furniture, clothes or old books will not be accepted. The yard sale will take place at the Tufts Machine lot on East Main Street in Westborough.

The girls are planning their itinerary to include a visit to Tybee Island, sightseeing and a pinning ceremony at Low's birthplace.
