Shrewsbury – Dec. 13, the Board of Selectmen authorized a “one bag free” program during the holiday week running Dec. 27 to 31. This is the fourth year of program, which has proven to be popular.
Pay As You Throw (PAYT) customers will be allowed to place one plastic non-PAYT trash bag up to 35 gallon or smaller at the curb on their normal day of collection during the period of Dec. 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31, 2011. Please note that the trash pick-up schedule is delayed by one day since Dec. 26 is being observed as the Christmas Holiday.
In addition, a single Christmas tree may be left by the curb without a sticker or attached PAYT bag from Dec. 26 to Jan. 31 that will also be picked up free of charge. All other rules associated with the town of Shrewsbury's curbside solid waste collection program remain in effect.
