D”Errico twins part of winning teamShrewsbury – Shrewsbury twins Gianna (left) and Nicola D’Errico celebrate their team's victory at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Pensacola, Fla., Dec. 3. The seniors have been part of the highly successful College of St. Rose women's soccer team, which has made it into four consecutive NCAA National Championship semi-final matches in the last few years. That is as far as the team was able to go in three of the contests. This year, though, they defeated Grand Valley State University, the defending two-time champions by a final score of 2-1.
Gianna and Nicola grew up in Shrewsbury and started playing soccer at age 4 in the Shrewsbury Youth Soccer league. They contributed to Shrewsbury High School's MIAA 2007 state championship game in their senior year, but were defeated by Andover 1-0.
