Hudson – Alvin B. Payne Sr., 63, formerly of Cambridge, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
He was the loving husband of Florence L. (Grasty) Payne of Hudson for 42 years and devoted father of Alisa Payne of Hudson, Jamyll Payne of Hudson, and Alvin B. Payne Jr. of Holliston.
Born in Barbados and raised in Cambridge, son of the late Joseph and Iola (Prescod) Payne, he was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. He later attended Boston College
Mr. Payne was a retired electrical engineer for Data General, Digital Equipment Corp., and several other local companies.
Family and friends may attend calling hours Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral service at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Mr. Payne to ALSA, Massachusetts Chapter, 320 Norwood Park South, 2nd Floor, Norwood, MA 02062.
