Northborough going strong

Northborough going strongNorthborough – While some communities are faced with the difficult decision to either cut services or dramatically increase taxation, Northborough is getting “fiscally fit.” Despite increases in school assessments and various insurance costs, the town is looking financially solid due, in large part, to new taxes gained from commercial and residential growth. Tax revenue from the Northborough Crossing and excise tax receipts from the Avalon Bay apartment complex have helped to positively impact the outlook of the fiscal year (FY) 2013 budget. As a result, households will see only a modest tax increase – $200 more in FY 2013 – according to Northborough Town Administrator John Coderre.
