Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Millbury – Ronald C. Nelson, 86 of Millbury, formerly of Westborough, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 214 at UMass Medical Center, University Campus, in Worcester after a period of declining health.

He was a graduate of the former's Peter's High School of Southborough, class of 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the tail end of World War II.

Ron worked for Sweet Life in Northborough for many years as a machine operator, where he was a member of the teamsters Local #170.? He was also a Past Master of the St. Bernard Masonic Lodge, formerly of Southborough. He enjoyed parachuting and was a parachute rigger for many years, and he had a passion for horse racing.

He leaves his children, Linda Errington, Stephen Nelson and his wife, Marilyn, all of Douglas; Rhonda Evangelou and her husband, Fred, of Nashua, N.H.; and Paul Nelson and his wife, Jackie, of Millbury, and also leaves two brothers, Paul Nelson and Wesley Nelson, both of Colorado; a sister, Marjorie Williams of N.J.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and an ex-wife, Barbara Lagarino of West Haven, Conn. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Frye.

There will be a funeral home service held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
