Obit Marion KniskernWorcester – Marion F. (Hill) Kniskern, 87, of Worcester, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 in her home after an illness.

She was born in Orlando, Florida, daughter of the late Charles E. and Helen E. (Crane) Hill. She graduated from Orlando Senior High School and Florida State University, and later graduated from the former Boston School of Occupational Therapy.

Marion worked as an occupational therapist at the Children's Convalescent Hospital in San Diego, California, and later for the St. John's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Her husband of 63 years, Kenneth L. Kniskern, died in 2013. She leaves behind her four children, Susan Lewis and her husband Robert of Henniker, N.H., Janet Dexter and her husband Frederick of Northborough, Amy Lenardson and her husband Charles of Shrewsbury, and Jon Kniskern and his wife Crystal of Stoughton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Corporal Lloyd F. Hill, USMC.

She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury. She also held memberships in the American Society of Occupational Therapists and the National Society of Decorative Painters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Kniskern family Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 6 – 8 p.m., in Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m., in the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury.
