RegionThe Natick Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) home health care agency announced that it has been named as Non-Profit Partner of the Year by the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce (MCC). The award, which was presented at the MCC’s recent 119th Annual Meeting and Awards Gala, was based on several criteria, including the agency’s contributions to and positive impact within MetroWest; how the agency has been an active business community and chamber member; and how the agency has improved the quality of life throughout Metrowest.

Among Natick VNA’s award-winning contributions are its clinical outcomes. Natick VNA has exceeded both national and state averages in 22 categories of Medicare’s Home Health Compare quality reporting, and 91 percent of the agency’s patients would recommend it to others needing home care.

Through its Pharmaceutical Free Programs, MetroWest Meds Prescription Drug Card, Community Education events and other medication discount programs, Natick VNA’s MetroWest Meds has enrolled, assisted and educated more than 5,600 people and has distributed more than 22,600 medications to its clients.

Additionally, Natick VNA collaborates with myriad community-based health and pharmaceutical organizations and statewide, local and senior service providers. Its staff have been active in the MCC, having served on various boards and committees.

Natick VNA has served as a leader among its peers as an early adopter of various technologies that help to improve patient outcomes, including tele-monitoring and, most recently, a clinical documentation solution for iPads. The agency has been accredited since 2001 by the Community Health Accreditation Program; it has been named for three years in a row to the HomeCare Elite, a compilation of top-performing home health agencies in the country; and has been awarded many other distinctions.

Finally, over the course of the agency’s 115 years, it has cared for an average of 2,000 people annually and 230,000 patients since its inception.

“We are so proud of the care we provide to our patients and their families throughout Metrowest,” said Natick VNA CEO Judith Boyko, MBA, MS, RN. “We wouldn’t be able to achieve our goals and objectives without key collaborative relationships like the ones we have with the chamber and others. We are honored to receive this award for our contributions to and role within the region. Thank you to the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce for its continued advocacy for the people who live, work and play here.”
