Obit Scott ForbesShrewsbury – Franklin “Scott” D. Forbes passed away at home Saturday, March 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Peggy (Gavagan) Forbes; his son, Richard Forbes of Clinton; three stepsons, Aaron, Adam, and Andrew; and his brother, James Forbes and wife Donna of Worcester, and was predeceased by brothers Richard, Davis, Curtis, and John Terrance.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of Franklin and Irene (Beane) Forbes. Scott lived in Shrewsbury for the past 26 years, and was formerly of Northborough and Berlin. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and proudly served in the Army Reserves.

A skilled tool and die maker by trade, Scott worked at Hudson Lock for 18 years and Saliga Machine in Hudson, retiring in 2011. He also owned Forbes Trucking Co.

He was a life member of the Marlborough Fish & Game, American Legion Post #234 of Northborough, and Moose Lodge of Marlborough, and was a past president of the former Northborough Fish & Game, and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). He was a proud member of the NRA. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Harley rider and pilot.

Scott and Peggy enjoyed several Norwegian cruises to Bermuda, Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Calling hours will be held Friday, March 27, from 4-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough.
