Obit Yvonne LeemanGrafton – Yvonne C. (Dion) Leeman, 75, passed away at home Saturday, April 25, 2015, surrounded by her family. Her husband, Albert “Bushey” Leeman, predeceased her.

Yvonne leaves her children, Michael Merrill, Cynthia and her husband Charles Fitzgerald Jr., and Crystal Forbes and her husband Michael; her sisters, Pearl Aubin and her husband John and Doris Burns-Lauze; her brother, Thomas Dion; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Henry and Phil Dion; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Merrill; and her brother-in-law, Robert Lauze.

Yvonne’s roots were in New Hampshire. She was born May 21, 1939 in Berlin, N.H., daughter of the late Isabelle (Couture) and Leo Dion. She also lived in Gorham before moving to Massachusetts, where she lived in Uxbridge, Palmer, and Grafton for the past 15 years.

The prime of her life was spent with her beloved late husband, “Bushey.” On a summer afternoon you would often find the two of them on a motorcycle ride as they were charter members of the White Mountain Riders.

Yvonne shared the gifts of her time and hard-working hands throughout her life, having worked with Meals on Wheels in Palmer and making blankets with Swedish weaving. She worked where and when she could throughout her life, and also was a home health care aid recently until her own health led her to retirement. On a Saturday night you also might have seen Yvonne trying her luck at a bingo table.

The center of family gatherings is where she was happiest and will be missed the most.

Her family asks that you honor Yvonne with donations to Beacon Hospice 529 Main St., Suite 101, Charlestown, MA 02129.

All are invited to a funeral service for Yvonne, to be held Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Burial will be private at her family’s convenience. There are no calling hours.
