WYFS ready for ‘Hot Summer Nights’

Westborough – The Westborough Youth and Family Services (WYFS) kicked off their Hot Summer Nights program June 19 with an ice cream giveaway for teens finishing their last day of school in front of the Forbes Municipal Building. WYFS administrative assistant Cathy Cairns passed out hot pink program booklets containing the Hot Summer Nights activity offerings and registration form. New Program Coordinator Julia Coache and long-time volunteer (and retired teacher), Oscar Najarian, handed out ice cream to the smiling teens, some of whom ran over and shouted, “free ice cream” to their friends.

The Hot Summer Nights activities include free or low-cost summer activities for Westborough teens in grades 6-10. Some scholarships are available. Activities include: canoeing on the Charles River, summer tubing at Ski Ward, an origami night, a movie night, mini golf at Green Thumb and many more.

Copies of the booklet can be picked up at the WYFS office, 45 West Main St., Room 21; at Westborough Public Library, 55 West Main St.; or downloaded from the website: http://www.town.westborough.ma.us/HSN. Information can also be found on the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WestboroughHSN.
