Westborough – Norman L. Bowman, 95, of Westborough, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Alice (Knight) Bowman.

Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Leslie and Grace (Lake) Bowman and was educated in Westborough schools. He also attended and graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agricultural.

Norman worked for many years on the Bowman Farm in Westborough. After retiring from the farm he worked at Chase Paper for 18 years, drove for AVCOA and then worked as the sexton for the First United Methodist Church.

He was the longest member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Westborough Grange for over 75 years and past master of Westborough Grange, Pomona Grange and State Grange.

Norman is survived by one son, Gary Bowman and his wife Dorice of Westborough; two daughters, Norma Lee Baer and her husband Roy of Holden and Sharon Freeman and her husband Maynard of Newington, Conn.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Woodman, Ethel O’Brien, Glendon Bowman, Marion Kennedy, and Irma Lowe.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
