He was born on June 6, 1925 in Bhandu, Gujarat, India, a son of the late Nemabhai and Menaben (Patel) Patel.
He leaves his wife, Gangaben Patel; his children, Ranchhodbhai Patel and his wife, Daxaben of Norwalk, Conn., Sureshbhai Patel and his wife Jagrutiben of Shrewsbury, Girishbhai Patel and his wife Jagrutiben of Albertson, Long Island, N.Y., Kantaben Patel and her husband Ambarambhai of Alabama, and Kashiben Patel and her husband Mohanlal of Attleborough; his grandchildren, Devina, Pratik, Dev, Ami, Jay and Rahul; his great-grandchildren, Viyann, Dhruti, Mudra, Maahir; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Shankerbhai’s life by gathering Thursday, Dec. 1, from 12:30-2 p.m., for a visitation and Hindu Rites at Trinity Church, 440 Main St., Shrewsbury. Cremation ceremony and Hindu final rites at Rural Cemetery & Crematory, 180 Grove St., Worcester, will follow for family only.
