Hudson – Maria L. (Bica) Figueiredo, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2018 at Coleman House in Northborough.
She leaves five children, John Figueiredo and his wife Janaina of Marlborough, Natalia Chaves and her husband Jim of Ontario, Canada, Mario Figueiredo and his wife Karen of West Boylston, Jose “Joe” Figueiredo and his wife Nichol of Marlborough, and David Figueiredo and his wife Staci of Hudson; 14 grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Slade, Jamie, Marissa, Leticia, Mariana, Nathan, Niklas, Demi, Noah, Petra, Jake and Adam; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Nolan. She is also survived by a sister, Rosalina Duarte of Ontario, Canada, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Jose G. Figueiredo, and two sisters and a brother.
She was born in Santa Maria, Portugal, daughter of Joao Braga and Filomena (Cabral) Braga. She moved to Hudson in 1975. She worked as a machine operator for Thomas Taylor in Hudson for many years. Maria enjoyed knitting, cooking and, most of all, spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery in Hudson. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 4-7 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
