Fay RitterShrewsbury – Fay (Wales) Ritter, 85, Shrewsbury, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 from an injury sustained at home and other medical issues. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert S. Ritter.

She leaves a son, Lawrence A. Ritter of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Elaine F. Roberge of Simpsonville, S.C.; seven Grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ritter was born in Worcester, daughter of Harry A. and Edith (Taylor) Wales, and lived there before moving to Shrewsbury 60 years ago. She was a graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester.

She worked as a tour guide at the General Artemas Ward Homestead in Shrewsbury for approximately 19 years, and hosted many elderly and educational visitations. She participated in several historical documentations of the General for local television.

Mrs. Ritter was a long-time member of the Shrewsbury First Congregational Church, serving as a Deaconess and participating in various committees, and was the former leader of a Montachusett Girl Scout Troop. Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting.

Private funeral services will be held at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Rd., Shrewsbury, and burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
