Shrewsbury – Helen V. (Palubeckis) Grigas, 98, of Shrewsbury, passed away Dec. 23, 2018 in the comfort of her home, with her loving daughters at her side. Her husband, John J. Grigas, predeceased her in May 2000.
Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Susan G. Grigas and Kathryn E. Grigas, both of Worcester, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Alphonse Palubeckis.
Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John C. and Katherine (Lesevich) Palubeckis. She grew up in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School with the Class of 1938, later marrying and setting with her family in Shrewsbury in 1955.
Helen worked for many years at New Method Plating Company in Worcester, retiring as office manager.
She was a long-time member of Saint Anne’s Church, where she was active as a volunteer for many of the church organizations, including Saint Anne’s Human Services. She was a member of the Shrewsbury Ladies Club, the Streakers Bowling League and the East Side Post 201 Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services are being held privately. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel is assisting her family with arrangements.
