Northborough – Alan R. Anderson, 74, of Northborough, passed away at home on December 11, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He leaves his wife of 34, years, Gayle M. (Giblin) Anderson.
Other survivors include a brother, Ronald Anderson and his wife Joan of Leicester; a stepson, Joseph Robertson and his wife Bridgett of Northborough; a nephew, Shane Anderson and family of Leicester; a sister-in-law, Catherine Giblin of Southborough.
Born in Millbury, and raised in Leicester, he was the son of the late Oscar and Edith (Anderson) Anderson. Alan was employed at Mack Truck in Worcester, most recently as a service manager for 45 years.
As a home machinist, he loved working on projects in his garage. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army overseas in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Alan was a member of Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post #234 in Northborough.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Rd., on the common, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. Burial will military honors will follow in Greenville Baptist Cemetery, Leicester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alan’s name may be made to American Legion Post #234, Northborough, MA 01532.
