Update on Northborough’s servicesNorthborough – Northborough town officials have released this statement:

In response to COVID-19, and in consideration of information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the latest guidance issued by Governor Baker, the Northborough Town Offices, Library, Senior Center and all other buildings with the exception of the Police and Fire Stations for emergency services will be closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 17th until further notice. The staff will be available during normal hours of operation (Town Offices and Senior Center 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00am – 7:00pm Tuesday, and 7:00am – noon Friday) to answer phone calls or email questions from the public.

During this closure, a wide variety of services will still be available online and by mail.  Residents and other interested parties can pay bills, apply for permits and licenses and access other information and services at the Town Website www.town.northborough.ma.us.  Payments by check will still be accepted through the drop box located next to the side entrance of the Town Offices.   Cash is not accepted.  Department-specific operational changes will be posted to their respective webpages and may be accessed through the Town’s homepage.

Meals on Wheels and transportation services will continue to coordinate through the Senior Center at this time but are subject to change.  We are evaluating the feasibility of a meal take out service for those who regularly come to the senior center for lunch.  Please refer to the Senior Center web page for ongoing updates or call 508-393-5035.

As a reminder, social distancing has proven to be one of the most effective ways to lessen the impact of an epidemic, by limiting the number of people an infected person comes into contact with before they show signs of the virus. We need to all do our part by making the daily choice to distance ourselves from each other as much as possible and choosing to stay connected using phone, video, and other social media.

To stay informed, residents are reminded to sign up for Code Red emergency notifications and Town News e-mail alerts.

We will continue to post regular updates regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on the Town’s home page:  https://www.town.northborough.ma.us/
