Shrewsbury – Nello Coppellotti, 74, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Nello is survived by his four children, Carrie A. Coppellotti and her wife Shanna Burke of Miami; three sons, Jayson J. Coppellotti and his fiancé, Lori Burgeson of Marstons Mills, Steven J. Coppellotti of Shrewsbury, and Matthew B. Coppellotti of Springfield; a brother, Orlando Coppellotti and a sister, Pina D’Agostino, both of Shrewsbury; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members, especially the D’Agostino family. He was predeceased by a sister, Gina Coppellotti.
Nello was born in Parma, Italy son of the late, Giuseppe and Dolinda Coppellotti, and came to the United States in 1955, settling in Shrewsbury.
Nello worked as a diesel mechanic for several construction companies, most recently R.H. White Construction, retiring in November 2019. He had previously worked with Modern Continental and held onto great memories from his time with Caprera Construction. He was a member of Saint Anne’s Church.
Nello was a beloved father and friend to many. He was always helping people whenever and wherever he could and will always be remembered for his kind heart and generous ways.
Calling Hours for Nello will be on Thursday morning, November 18, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne’s Church, 120 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9 east), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
