Westborough – Jane (Shaw) Shanks, 86, passed away peacefully, January 20, 2022 at her home in Jupiter FL. Jane was born in Boston September 18, 1935 and graduated from Stoneham HS in 1953.
In 1955 Jane graduated from Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing and married the love of her life Robert K. Shanks on October 29.
Jane was a longtime resident of Westborough MA and spent her retirement years between Maine and Florida.
Jane was predeceased by her son Robert Stephen Shanks and brother Donald Shaw. Jane is survived by her husband Bob. She was deeply loved by her three sons and extended family: Robert Stephen (Karen) Shanks of North Grafton, MA, Richard (Deborah) Shanks Sr of Barre, MA, and David (Marie) Shanks of Williston, VT, her seven grandchildren -Lori (Justin) Schroth, Emily Shanks (Igor Escaleira), Stephanie (Simon) Maznick, Richard (Colleen) Shanks Jr, and Sylvie, Samantha and Nate Shanks – eight great grandchildren – Max and Theo Schroth, Austin and Dalia Escaleira, Ryleigh and Oliver Maznick, Averie and Ellie Anna Shanks. Jane is also survived by her sister Elaine (Bob) Glass, Niece-Danielle Shanley, Great-Niece Eryn Shanley, Nephew-David Powers, and sister-in-law Evelyn (Shanks) Wyman.
Jane was loved by many. She was a kind and gracious woman who cultivated beautiful heartfelt friendships.
A family memorial will be held this summer.
