‘I urge Shrewsbury to vote for Erin Boucher’

Letter to the Editor logoDear Editor:

I am writing to urge Shrewsbury citizens to vote for Erin Boucher for School Committee.  I’ve known Erin for about twenty years, first as a family friend, then when we served as co-leaders in our daughters’ Girl Scout troop, but also as a fellow Town Meeting members and PTO leaders, and then as my daughter’s religious education instructor at St. Mary’s.

Erin has that special ability to function at a high level in many different roles, both professionally and in her civic commitments.  Erin is a highly successful litigation attorney at Morrison Mahoney, and a dedicated mother with two children, one at the High School and the other at Oak.  Erin has demonstrated her commitment to the Shrewsbury Public Schools in her many involvements, not only the PTO, but also the Beal Building Committee, the HS ad hoc Mascot Committee, and the Oak and HS School Councils.   Erin is smart, hard-working, self-effacing, and a real team player, all necessary qualities to serving successfully on the Shrewsbury School Committee.

There are several fine candidates running this year for School Committee, and we in Shrewsbury are fortunate to have so many interested in our local government.  I have known Erin for a long time, and I feel that I have a unique perspective, having watched her in many different roles.  I think that Erin is the perfect candidate for School Committee, and that Shrewsbury would be very lucky to have her serving our community in this important role.  I urge Shrewsbury to vote for Erin Boucher for School Committee.

Respectfully,

Lisa Powers
