Shrewsbury – Camille Dolores (Caron) Martin, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Homestead Hall in Worcester.
Camille lived independently at her home in Shrewsbury until December 29, 2021. Homestead Hall provided her with love, comfort, attention & support right up to her last “spa night”. We are grateful to them and for bringing her Jewish Health Care Hospice.
Camille is survived by her 4 children, Denise Hein and her husband Don, Susan, Jim and David Martin. Also survived by her 5 grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Adrienne Martin and her three fur babies and many nieces and nephews back in her home state of New Hampshire.
She is predeceased by her husband Paul H. Martin, her daughter Michelle and son John Martin.
After raising six children, Camille returned to work and school. In 1977 she received a professional chef and teacher’s diploma from the Modern Gourmet Cooking School and taught classes in her home. In 1984 she graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and merged this with her previous Nursing degree from Saint Anselm in 1956. She worked as a Director of Nursing and Senior Clinician at Spectrum Health Services until she retired in 2005.
She was an avid reader, artist and traveler throughout her life. She possessed a “mean backhand”, on and off the tennis courts! She always spoke her mind and lived her truth.
To honor her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. She will be celebrated every time friends and family are together.
In lieu of flowers, whenever you pass by some yellow roses, please share them with a friend or loved one, they were her favorite.
