Paul M. FernandesHudson – Paul M. Fernandes, 55, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 17, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Paul leaves his wife Michele L. (Collins) Fernandes; his son Noah B. Fernandes; his parents, Antonio and Maria (Figuerido) Fernandes; his brother, Mario Fernandes and his wife Toni along with 10 aunts and uncles, 24 cousins and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Paternal Grandparents, Manuel and Anna Fernandes; his maternal grandparents Antonio and Ermelinda Figuerido; his father and mother-in-law Allan and Barbara Collins and two uncles.

Paul was born in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal. He emigrated to the states at the age of 5 in 1971. Raised by his parents in Hudson he attended local schools and was a 1984 graduate of Hudson High School. Following high school he went on to Worcester State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science. He worked for many years part time at the former Corrado’s Pizza on Main Street in Hudson. Many of Corrado’s regular patrons can recall Paul’s talents at tossing the dough. He was currently employed at the UMASS Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester as a Nuclear Medicine Technician. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Paul enjoyed many activities throughout his life and most of all he cherished the many occasions he shared with his family. He was very athletic participating in football and baseball during his years at Hudson High School. He was honored to be a part of two football super bowl teams elected into the Hudson High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots always looking forward to another successful season. He remained very active throughout his life. Running and spending time in the gym to keep fit were just a few activities he enjoyed in his spare time. Summers in Wells, ME at their summer home and relaxing days at Ogunquit Beach in Maine were special to all the family.

Paul will certainly be remembered as a husband, father, son, brother and friend who always would “do for others and not worry about himself”. He will certainly remain in the hearts of all who loved and knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the funeral home. Committal services will immediately follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson, MA.
