Shrewsbury – Jacqueline A. Benoit, lifelong resident of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2022; she was 87 years old. Jackie was born and raised in Shrewsbury, one of three children to the late Raymond C. and Edith M. (Corazzini) Charette.
She graduated Shrewsbury High School in 1952 and for several years was employed at Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. in Worcester and later at Spag’s Dept. Store in Shrewsbury. For many years she performed as a professional tap dancer, a talent she began at a young age. In more recent years she found relaxation in knitting and pencil art.
Above all, Jackie was a loving wife, dedicated mother and special grandmother to her grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband, William A. Benoit, Sr. Jackie and Bill were looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this October 20th. Jackie is also survived by her son, William Benoit, Jr. of Worcester; her daughter Michelle Sidoti of Shrewsbury; her three grandchildren, Shaylin Sidoti, Daniel Sidoti and Devin Benoit; a sister, Paula McNamara and her husband Raymond of Rhode Island and several nieces and nephews. Her brother, Raymond Charette preceded Jackie in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 O’clock in the morning on Thursday, August 25, in Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours.
