Northborough – In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 23, 2022, Marylou (Landergan) Gallagher passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love and support of her family; she was 80 years old. Marylou was the beloved wife of John (Jack) E. Gallagher, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Gretchen McMullen and her husband Patrick of Franklin, Heather Orlando and her late husband Adam of North Andover, Megan Gallagher and her husband Kurt Blanz of Moraga, CA. She leaves behind her grandchildren Ryan and Ashley McMullen, Maeve and Haven Orlando, and Quinn and Haley Blanz. She also leaves her dear sister and best friend, Polly (Landergan) Casey.

Marylou was the daughter of the late Honorable William J. Landergan and Gertrude (Donovan) Landergan of Lynn. She also was predeceased by her brother William J. Landergan, Jr. and sister Gertrude Landergan.

Born and raised in Lynn, Marylou attended Lynn Classical High School. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in 1963 and taught second grade in Lynn upon her graduation. After raising her girls, she returned to teach English as a Second Language in both the Northborough and Westborough Public Schools. Her never-ending patience and kindness impacted so many students and people in her life.

Marylou developed a love for dance at an early age earning a lead role as Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. She enjoyed hitting the dance floor with Jack at family and friends’ weddings. Marylou was always up on the latest fashions, enjoyed shopping, interior design and brisk walks. Marylou loved being a “Mum” and “Gramma” and spending summers in York Beach, ME with her family.

Marylou was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Parish of 50 years. Marylou’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Thursday, October 27 at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. There are no public calling hours. Burial immediately following Mass at Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
