Bernice M. BeaudreauGrafton – Bernice M. Beaudreau, 91, passed away peacefully June 25, 2023 at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Northbridge, MA. She was born May 4, 1932 in Worcester, daughter of the late Lydia (Collette) and Frederick Marando, and lived most of her life in Grafton.

She leaves her children, Kathy Brouillard, Denise Beaudreau, Marie Bengtson, Jeanine Alton, Susan Couillard, Robert Beaudreau, and Debra Jacques, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur “Hershey” Marando, Rita Smith, Jeannette “Bunny” Buzzetti and Roland Marando, and her grandson George Couillard.

She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester, where she trained to be a seamstress. She often designed and sewed clothing for her children and grandchildren. Creative throughout her life, she also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and baking, including for a time crafting and selling wedding cakes.

Following many years as a homemaker, she worked at Prest Wheel, Whitin Machine Works, and Burgess Leather. She also worked at St. James Parish Rectory for several years. Always strong in faith, she was a devoted St. James parishioner throughout her life. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for several years. She also was a past President of the Women’s Guild, and former Treasurer of the Forest Lane Tenants Association.

Bernice’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation, and the Jewish Healthcare Center. The dedication and professionalism of her caregivers will never be forgotten.

All are welcome to gather with Bernice’s family and friends Friday, June 30th from 9-11 am at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:30 at St. James Church 89 Main St. S. Grafton, MA 01560. She will then be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Northbridge.
