Anne Marie WeilerNorthborough – Anne Marie (Harrington) Weiler, 59, a 30-year resident of Northborough, MA, passed away in her home early Tuesday morning on June 27th, 2023 after an amazing 13-year battle with breast cancer. She faced this disease head on with her sharp wit and silly humor. Her courage in this arduous journey was unparalleled. Her soul was lifted to the heavens during a substantial thunderstorm that morning, which is just the way she would have wanted to go.

Anne Marie was born and raised in Holden, MA to James Harrington and Alice McKillop Harrington in 1963. She was the youngest of her siblings: Timothy Harrington, John Harrington, and Paul Harrington. Anne Marie attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, MA and graduated in 1981 and went on to attend Simmons College in Boston, MA, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1985. She married her loving husband, Patrick J. Weiler, of Wauwatosa, WI in 1990 at Saint Mary’s Parish in Holden, MA. Patrick and Anne Marie had two daughters, Shannon Harrington Weiler in 1993, and Jacqueline Marie Weiler in 1995. She cherished both of her girls so dearly.

Anne Marie was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years in the Worcester County area. She worked at various medical institutions such as Fallon Clinic (now Reliant Medical Center) in Worcester, MA as a nurse in the Internal Medicine department. She also worked at Becker College in Leicester, MA and Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA in the Health Services department as a college nurse. Additionally, she volunteered as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), which is a child advocacy program for children in foster homes and transitory housing. She found great joy in helping others get well, and met so many amazing people and good friends through her constant devotion and dedication to her causes in both nursing, and in advocating for those who needed help.

In her spare time, Anne Marie loved going to the theater and also acting in various performances at local community theaters. Her love for theater began in her middle school and high school years, and her participation increased with her age. She especially liked to play the comedic roles to express her humorous side, which came so naturally to her. The sun and beach brought her warmth, comfort, and relaxation. She would always say that the beach was her medicine. “It heals me” she would often repeat. Furthermore, she loved animals, and in particular, her special dog named Emmy Lou, who gave her endless happy piggy snorts of love and cuddles.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Weiler and their two children, Shannon Weiler, of Providence, RI and Jacqueline (Weiler) Whitney, of Fort Collins, CO. She is also survived by her beloved brothers and their spouses: Timothy Harrington and Margret (Hester) Harrington, Dr. John Harrington and Vickie Weber, and Dr. Paul Harrington and Kathleen (Hart) Harrington. Additionally she is survived by several beloved nephews and nieces and their spouses: Brigid Harrington and her husband Jared Hubbard, Maura (Harrington) Ramirez and her husband Kelvin Ramirez, Deirdre (Harrington) Kruger and her husband James Kruger, John Harrington, Kevin Harrington, Molly (Harrington) Farrell and her husband Glenn Farrell, Dr. Ryan Harrington and his wife Dr. Rachel Lukas, Timothy Harrington and his wife Jennifer Deprez, and Dr. Michael Harrington and his fiancée Samatha Salamack.

Public Calling Hours will be held at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury, MA on Sunday, July 9th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a private funeral on July 10th. She will be laid to rest at Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough, MA.
