Pamela B. SklutShrewsbury – Pamela B. “Pam” (Paull) Sklut, 64, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She had been battling colon cancer since being diagnosed in 2021.

She leaves her beloved husband of 39 years, Daniel G. Sklut; her devoted sons, Mark D. Sklut and his wife Amanda and Brian T. Sklut and his wife Erica, her grandchildren, Emilia, Eloise, and Isabella, whom she cherished; along with her siblings, Deborah Walsh, Christine Besaw and husband Mike, Matthew Saunders and fiancée Jennifer Rizzi, Jennifer Saunders, Heather Saunders, Larry Paull, Dana Paull, and Barry Paull; and her nieces and nephew, Zachary Besaw, Rachel Besaw, Hannah Besaw, and Kacey Walsh. Pam was predeceased by her mother, Susan C. (Marsaw) Saunders, in 2022; her brother-in-law, Peter J. Walsh, in 2016; and her father, Frederick Paull.

Pam was born in Sarasota, Florida in 1959. She was later raised in Shrewsbury, graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 1977. Pam then received a B.A. in Fine Art from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA in 1981. She married her beloved husband, Danny, in 1983, settling in Shrewsbury to begin their life together.

Being passionate about her creativity and pursuit of a career in the Arts, Pam began her career in the Art Department of New England Electric. She dedicated over six years to the company, before working for Vaillancourt Folk Art in Sutton. It was there that she honed her skill in detail painting, requiring a steady hand for those fine lines. Pam was a master of her craft, even illustrating four spiritual bouquet books for area churches, including her home parish of Saint Anne’s in Shrewsbury. Worcester Diocese’s appreciation for her artistry was overwhelming, and they even shared her work with the Vatican.

When she wasn’t devoting countless hours to her beloved work, Pam enjoyed painting murals, drawing, beading, and making jewelry. She saw details in things that many other people missed.

Her passion was herbology. Pam could pick what most people considered a weed from a lawn to quickly calm a painful insect sting, make soothing salves, or a concoction to help mend bones. She loved to help others with her knowledge of herbs.

Pam was a woman of great faith. She was a practicing Catholic who deeply embraced her faith and devotion to God. It was her faith that carried her through her terrible cancer journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dunbarton Historical Society, 1007 School Street, Dunbarton, NH 03046.
