Westborough/Sturbridge – Matthew J. Drake, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 29th.
He leaves his beloved daughter, McKenna A. Haney of Warren; his mother, Linda A. (Sergi) Drake of Westborough; his father, Peter A. Drake and his partner Monica McLoughlin of Uxbridge; his two sisters, Katie L. Berthiaume of Sturbridge and her children Madison, Zachary and Jameson; Ashley N. Drake of Westborough and her children Anthony, Alex and Jaden; and many aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom loved him dearly.
He was born in Boston on May 9, 1978. He was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School and attended UMass Dartmouth.
Matt was an avid golfer with a real talent for the game. He was a member of a state champion golf team at Tantasqua Regional High School. He was an avid fan of all of the New England sports teams. Matt was a loving and caring man devoted to his family. Above all Matt’s greatest love was for his daughter, his angel, McKenna.
Calling hours for Matt will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 5th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. A funeral service for Matt will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6th, at 11:00am in the Faith Baptist Church, 515 Dennison Dr, Southbridge. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
